Bangalore to Dharmasthala is about 300 km via Nelamangala, Kunigal, Hassan and Sakleshpur, then down the Shiradi Ghat on NH 75. KSRTC runs 46 online-bookable buses a day, from 06:46 AM to 11:14 PM, most of them overnight. Options include Karnataka Sarige and Ashwamedha express buses (₹415–₹491), Rajahamsa Executive (₹758–₹896), Airavat Club Class (₹1,175) and Non AC and Pallakki sleepers (₹1,068–₹1,339). The trip takes about 6 to 8½ hours, ending at Dharmasthala bus stand near the Sri Manjunatha Swamy temple.

Travel Tips
- Most buses leave between 08:00 PM and 11:15 PM and reach Dharmasthala early in the morning, in time for the morning darshan queue.
- Karnataka Sarige and Ashwamedha (from ₹415) are by far the cheapest. Non AC and Pallakki sleepers (₹1,068–₹1,339) are worth it for a night trip with family.
- Buses pick up at many points in north and west Bengaluru, such as Yeshwantpur, Jalahalli Cross, Malleshwaram, Goraguntepalya and Nelamangala, so you need not go to Majestic.
- The Shiradi Ghat section is slow during heavy monsoon rain. If you plan to continue to Kukke Subrahmanya, carry the bus timings for that leg too.
Best time to travel: October to March is the best time, with clear ghat roads and comfortable weather. Weekends, Laksha Deepotsava (November–December) and school holidays are very crowded, so book early.
