Travel Tips
- Late-night departures (9 PM–11:35 PM) on Ashwamedha, Rajahamsa Executive, or Airavat Club Class are the most comfortable way to cover this Ghat route, arriving in Dharmasthala early morning in time for temple darshan.
- The Hassan–Gundya route is the fastest and most common; a few buses instead go via Madikeri and Kukke Subramanya, which is scenic but takes longer — check the via places before booking if travel time matters.
- Book premium services (Rajahamsa Executive, Airavat Club Class) a day in advance, especially around festival periods when Dharmasthala sees heavy pilgrim traffic.
- Mysuru Bus Stand has the most departures, but several night services also pick up from Hinkal, Hootagalli, and Sathagalli Bus Stand — check your boarding point in advance since it varies by service.
Best time to travel: October to February is the most comfortable period for this Western Ghats route, avoiding the heavy monsoon rains (June–September) that can slow travel through the Hassan-Gundya ghat section.
