Departures run from 04:00 AM to 11:59 PM, and every bus ends at Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) in Bengaluru. The trip takes about 4.5 to 6 hours, making it the main link for weekend visitors returning from Mullayanagiri, Baba Budangiri and the coffee estates, as well as students and workers commuting to Bengaluru.

Travel Tips
- The EV Power Plus (6 buses) and Airavat Club Class (5 buses) are the AC options — the electric EV Power Plus is quiet and smooth on the Hassan–Kunigal stretch and costs ₹660–₹710.
- Besides Chikkamagaluru Bus Stand, about half the buses also pick up at Hiremagalur Main Road Temple Arch, Azad Park Circle and Kote Circle, so board at the stop nearest your homestay or hotel.
- Sunday evening and the last day of long weekends are the busiest for Bengaluru-bound buses after coffee-estate getaways — book AC seats a day or two ahead for those dates.
- If you want to reach Bengaluru early for work, take the 04:00 AM Ashwamedha (Point To Point Express) or one of the late-night buses — 8 of the 21 buses leave after 08:00 PM.
Best time to travel: October to March is the most popular time to travel Chikmagalur to Bangalore, after the monsoon when the coffee hills are green and cool; expect heavy weekend crowds on return buses during this season.
