💡Travel Tips

  • Most buses leave at night — 40 of the 70 depart after 08:00 PM — so an Ambaari Utsav or Ambaari Dream Class AC sleeper lets you sleep through the ghat section and reach Bengaluru early in the morning.
  • Almost every bus picks up at Mangaluru Bus Station, Jyothi Circle, Kankanady, Pumpwel and Padeel, so board at the stop nearest to you instead of going to the main bus station.
  • 61 of the 70 buses drop at Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic); if you are heading to south Bengaluru, look for services that also stop at Mysore Road Satellite Bus Stand, Jayanagar or Banashankari.
  • The Shiradi Ghat stretch can be slow during the June–September monsoon, so expect arrival toward the upper end of the 7–10 hour range and book AC sleepers a day or two ahead on Fridays and before long weekends.
🌤️

Best time to travel: October to February is the most comfortable time to travel Mangalore to Bangalore, with dry weather and clear ghat roads. Avoid tight schedules in the June–September monsoon, when heavy rain on the Shiradi Ghat can add delays.
