Udupi to Bangalore is about 405 km via Mangaluru, Uppinangady, Sakleshpur and Hassan (NH 66 and NH 75). KSRTC runs 31 online-bookable buses a day, from 06:41 AM to 10:20 PM, most of them overnight sleepers. Options range from Karnataka Sarige and Ashwamedha (₹553–₹556) and Rajahamsa Executive (₹803) to Non AC and Pallakki sleepers (₹1,103–₹1,153), Airavat Club Class (₹1,259–₹1,350) and Ambaari Dream Class and Ambaari Utsav AC sleepers (₹1,550–₹1,660). The journey takes about 8 to 11 hours, with drops across south and central Bengaluru including Majestic, Banashankari and Jayanagar.

Travel Tips
- Ambaari Dream Class (₹1,550) is the fastest, at about 8 hours; Ambaari Utsav (₹1,660) has six departures between 08:00 PM and 10:20 PM.
- Students at Manipal can board at Manipal bus stand; buses also pick up at Udupi City Bus Station, Kinnimulki, Katapady, Uchila and Kaup.
- For south Bengaluru, get off at Banashankari TTMC, Kathriguppe or Jayanagar 4th Block instead of riding into Majestic.
- Weekend and holiday night buses from Udupi and Manipal sell out quickly, especially Sunday nights. Book a few days ahead.
Best time to travel: October to March is the best time, with clear weather on the Shiradi Ghat. During the June to September monsoon, the ghat section can be slow; allow extra time.
