Travel Tips
- The Ambaari Dream Class AC Sleeper (₹2,406) is faster, at about 17½ hours, and arrives at 08:31 AM. The Pallakki Non AC Sleeper (₹1,815) takes about 19 hours and arrives at 08:00 AM.
- Both buses leave in the afternoon, so pack dinner or plan to eat at the evening halt near Hubballi.
- The Pallakki boards only at Mangaluru Bus Station; the Ambaari Dream Class also picks up at Kottara Chowki and Panambur, which is easier if you live north of the city.
- With only 2 buses a day and limited sleeper berths, book at least a week ahead for weekends and festival dates.
Best time to travel: October to February is the best time, with cool nights and dry roads. Summer (April to June) is very hot on the Raichur stretch, so the AC sleeper is worth the extra fare then; the June to September monsoon can slow the coastal and ghat sections.
